Sarah Glennane is an independent music supervisor and music business professional based in Dublin with a passion for music of all genres, a good ear and a nerdish interest in publishing and licensing of music. Sarah has over ten years experience working in the music industry in Ireland and has worked with many notable Irish musicians including Kíla, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Paddy Casey, Glen Hansard, Damien Dempsey, Ronnie Drew , Susan McKeown amongst others.

Sarah offers a full music supervision service . This involves music consultation at script stage, contracting of composer, management of music production, sourcing additional music, clearing and budget management, delivery of music masters to spec, signed licenses and cue sheet delivery. Sarah has excellent communication skills and can work alongside directors, producers, editors and composers, understanding and translating their creative needs and financial boundaries in sourcing the best available music for the project. Ideally Sarah would like to be involved from pre production and will stay with a project through to distribution stage. Sarah also offers individual services including music clearance, music research and managing score delivery.

As a band manager Sarah over saw the production and release of over eight albums, booked, organised and tour managed countless tours and was responsible for the publishing and exploitation of her artist’s catalogues and finding and managing new composition work. Working with music users is an area that particularly interested Sarah, allowing her to flex her creative muscles in helping match music to usage, and with strong relationship and negotiation skills,  She developed an ability to  draw out and understand the needs  of the music user and relate these to the successful delivery of the completed composition by the artist. Sarah gained substantial knowledge of the world of music publishing, licensing and clearance of music. Notable projects Sarah was involved with working with musicians include the Oscar nominated Secret of Kells (Cartoon Saloon), Dambé – The Mali Project (Luachra Productions) featuring musicians Liam Ó Maonlaí and Paddy Keenan and The Temple Builder (Luachra Productions), as well as providing existing music to many film and TV productions, including The Stag (Treasure Films 2014)

In 2011  Sarah completed a certificate in Music Supervision with Berklee College of Music Boston (Online faculty) to further her knowledge and skill base in the area of music usage and with the aim of setting up shop as a music supervisor.

Since then Sarah has  worked on a number of film/tv projects including feature films from Irish Directors Mark O Connor – King of The Travellers and Kirsten Sheridan’s Dollhouse. Two historical educational films for the new medieval museum in Waterford ( Paul Bolger /Pillarstone Productions)

RTE/Crossing the Line productions; Wild Journeys  Return of the Eagles  and The Secret life of  the Shannon (recently won Best Music at Green Screen festival, Berlin)

Sarah sat on Music and Film Panel for HWCH / Screen training Ireland event Sept ’14 and has taught a number of classes on Music Usage at Film Base Ireland, Masters in Feature Film Production.

Sarah is currently teaching module in Music in Film for the MSC in Feature Film production at Film Base, Dublin. She has also participated in industry panels for Screen Training Ireland and IMRO.
